Melissa McCardle has been a resident of Massapequa Park for over ten years and during that time, she has dedicated herself to serving her community in many ways. She is a Board of Education liaison for the PTA, Treasurer of the South Bay Democratic Club, and an Assistant Pack leader in Cub Scouts. She is a Democratic Committee member who has volunteered on numerous campaigns over the past few years.
As a social worker for more than 20 years, Melissa has spent her career serving others through counseling, community advocacy and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Melissa attended Hofstra University where she earned her B.A. in Psychology, New York University where she earned her M.S.W., and The Graduate Center of the City University of New York where she earned her Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Social Welfare. Melissa has worked in her own private practice, has served as an administrator for the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System (now Northwell) and has earned the highest academic rank of Full Professor in her current position at Molloy College.
As a Professor, Melissa has co-authored several articles and conducted multiple national, state and local presentations on her work with individuals and communities. She has secured grant funding for several research projects. Melissa’s experience demonstrates her skills in business management, leadership, and
developing interpersonal relationships.
Melissa is a proud mother and wife whose family is her biggest inspiration to create a positive change through honest and ethical leadership in the Town of Oyster Bay.
